Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “Ingraham Angle,” Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) said “Republicans and conservatives are being hunted” when reacting to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the Turning Point USA founder.
Moreno said, “I’m actually going to be honest, probably, like a lot of people who knew Charlie, I don’t think I’ve processed completely. I met him as a kid. As a kid, he was a kid that came to see me. He had this big idea that he’s going to transform young people, make them engage in the future of this country. And I got the opportunity to see him grow this little idea into this incredible organization.”
He added, “And I think you can honestly say he changed this country and what he brought to us, Laura, was his idea that we can debate ideas, that it’s actually okay, that we have different points of view. But Republicans and conservatives are being hunted right now. I just call it like it is. This is a political assassination. This was a lunatic hunted because of his views, because of his willingness to share his opinions, which is what the left fears more than anything else, because they have no opinions.”
