Miley Cyrus Misses Her First Career No. 1 On One Chart By One Spot

Miley Cyrus debuts at No. 1 on the U.K.’s album sales and download charts with Something Beautiful, … More while hitting No. 2 on the vinyl tally — her all-time career peak. Miley Cyrus scores a lofty debut in the United Kingdom with her new album Something Beautiful, which opens at No. 1 on several charts in the country this week. While the project doesn’t launch atop the main list of the most-consumed full-lengths and EPs, it does perform especially well when it comes to pure purchases, as the singer’s fanbase opened their wallets to support the pop icon.

Something Beautiful misses out on the throne on multiple rankings by just a spot or two, but its arrival helps the Grammy winner tie her all-time best showing on one competitive list.

Something Beautiful Debuts at No. 2

Something Beautiful kicks off its time at No. 2 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart this frame. The pop set is held back from the top spot by the alternative group the 1975, which arrives in first place with Still at Their Very Best – Live.

Cyrus’s effort is one of nine debuts inside the top 10 this week on the vinyl-only tally during what has turned out to be a very busy period. The uppermost region of the ranking is completely refreshed from last week, so while she doesn’t lead the charge, Cyrus can feel comfortable knowing she faced stiff competition — and bested nearly all of it.

Miley Cyrus Has Never Hit No. 1

Cyrus has never reached No. 1 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart, and the 1975 keeps her from scoring her first champion on the list. The No. 2 start of Something Beautiful does match her previously-set career peak, which she reached in spring 2023 with Endless Summer Vacation. That project, her most recent full-length before Something Beautiful, opened in the runner-up space, then dipped to No. 6, then No. 30, and has not been seen on the vinyl tally since.

Nearly Every Miley Cyrus Vinyl Album Has Hit the Top 10

Throughout her career, Cyrus has pushed five projects to the Official Vinyl Albums chart, and all but one have cracked the top 10. Plastic Hearts and Bangerz peaked at Nos. 5 and 8, respectively. Her 2018 set Younger Now only managed one turn at No. 37 before disappearing.

Something Beautiful Rules the Sales Charts

Something Beautiful rules both the Official Albums Sales and Official Album Downloads charts this week, and it becomes yet another win in Cyrus’s collection of leaders. The set also opens inside the top 10 at No. 3 on the Official Albums list, which ranks titles by total consumption — not just pure purchases, like the other two.
