A helicopter crashed near the New Hanover / Pender County line Monday night, according to information provided by the Pender County Fire Marshal’s Office on Facebook.
The post said several county and mutual aid agencies responded to the downed aircraft.
The three people on board were transported to the hospital for further treatment, the fire marshal’s office said.
“Please join us in extending thoughts and prayers for the helicopter crew, their families, and coworkers,” the post read.

According to WWAY TV, the crash involved a Novant Health AirLink helicopter carrying three employees and no patients.
“We are focused on the well-being of the flight crew, their families and our team members,” Novant Health spokesman Julian March told WWAY. “We are still in the initial response and information gathering phase at this time and have limited information to share. We appreciate the prompt assistance from all area first responders who are assisting us tonight.“
Additional details about the exact location of the crash, what caused the incident and where the helicopter was headed were not immediately available.
