Peacock has announced it will become the home of the veteran Married at First Sight. The order is for three seasons, taking it through 21 editions. Already the home of Love Island and other series in the category, the streaming service continues to build its presence in the relationship reality space.

Based on the Danish series titled Gift ved første bli, Married at First Sight features three to five couples, paired up by relationship experts, who agree to marry when they first meet.

The series first aired in the United States on the cable network FYI in 2014. Beginning with season two, it was also simulcast on sister cable net A+E. In 2017, it moved to Lifetime, another outlet under the A+E Networks umbrella. By 2018, two spin-offs were announced: Married at First Sight: Honeymoon Island and Married at First Sight: Happily Ever After.

Other spinoff series from the global franchise are Married at First Sight: The First Year, Married Life, Married at First Sight: Second Chances, Jamie and Doug Plus One, Married at First Sight: Couples’ Cam and Married at First Sight: Unmatchables.

Produced by Kinetic Content/Chris Coelen (Love is Blind, The Ultimatum), there are a reported 30 versions of Married at First Sight internationally.
