Marina Diamandis has quite a busy 2025 ahead of her. After the release last fall of her poetry book Eat the World, the Welsh songstress returned to music last month with a new single “Butterfly,” signaling that she was similarly coming out of her musical cocoon and preparing to fly with a new album following her 2021 LP Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land. She’s set a number of festival performances for this spring and summer, kicking it all off at Coachella next month, and is now taking her shot with another new single, “Cupid’s Girl.”

“I’m gonna fall in love tonight / I’ve got my bow and arrow / My heart-shaped eyes are burning bright / I’ve got you in my sight / You’re looking at my wings and by the look in your eyes / You’ve got an appetite / My love is ready to take flight / Slow dance into the light,” she sings on the upbeat track. “Cupid / You’re so stupid / Trying to resist / My kiss / But you know I never miss / Baby, you just need to relax / Don’t panic when it hits / Shoot my arrow right into your back.”

Marina, in her everyday life as in the song, has recently been able to look to the future with hope for what’s to come. “I think the sense of what’s right and wrong particularly resonates because it’s taken me a long time to challenge that and be like, ‘The world is not an ideal place,’ and to try and relax that part in myself. Because I so want it to be, and actually it kind of blocks you from seeing people and situations for the way that they actually are, which has taken me really up until this point in my life to be able to do that,” she admitted to Paper.

Marina is set to take the stage at Coachella on April 11 and 18.
