A Bridgeport man faces federal child exploitation charges after an FBI investigator in another state reportedly found him on an Internet livestream engaged in sexual activity with a teenage girl, which led authorities to a residence in Connecticut where he was taken into custody.

Onai Kedar Wilbur Wright, 25, has been charged in a federal criminal complaint with sexual exploitation of children and transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.

Wright appeared Thursday in federal court in Hartford before U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas O. Farrish, officials said. He has been detained since he was arrested on related state charges on March 14, when an Online Covert Employee with the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force in Cleveland, Ohio was monitoring a live video stream on the online app “Fambase,” federal authorities said.

The investigator observed Wright with a 16-year-old girl, according to federal officials. Authorities said they were led to a residence in Norwich from an analysis of mobile communications and geo-location data, as well as information from AirBnB.

Inside the residence, authorities found Wright, the teenager and two women, officials said. Wright was taken into custody at the scene.

According to federal authorities, the federal charges Wright faces carry a combined 25 years of minimum mandatory prison time and a maximum of life in prison.
