Leftist CNN Anchor Dana Bash Catches Hakeem Jeffries Off Guard with a Challenge When He Starts Whining About the Government Shutdown (VIDEO)

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) was caught off guard on Tuesday when one of CNN’s most notorious anchors refused to buy his spin on the Schumer Shutdown and issued a surprising challenge instead.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the Schumer Shutdown took effect at 12:01 am on October 1 after two measures to avert the government shutdown failed in the Senate.

The measures needed 60 votes to pass. The GOP-backed measure failed to pass in a 55-45 vote – Rand Paul voted with the Democrats.

The Democrat Party to put the welfare of illegal aliens, higher taxes by repealing Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill, surgeries for transgender minors, and more garbage ahead of keeping the government running.

Several more GOP votes have been held to reopen the government, but Democrats have remained firm in their obstinacy.

Seemingly expecting a softball interview from the liberal anchor, Jeffries started whining about the shutdown, pointing the finger at House Republicans for not being willing to have a conversation. He also blamed President Trump.

But instead of buying Jeffries’s stupid excuse, Bash issued a challenge: How about going to Speaker Johnson’s office and knocking on his door?

After all, Jeffries and Johnson are right down the hall from each other. The House Democratic leader could easily request a face-to-face conversation about the shutdown.

Surprised, Jeffries resorted to claiming that Johnson had not received permission from Trump.

Bash then asked again. This time, Jeffries said he could talk to Johnson but did not think such a conversation would be productive.

But how does he know this if he has not bothered trying?

WOW! CNN just CALLED OUT Hakeem Jeffries to his face on the government shutdown in a brutal moment

JEFFRIES: We’ve had no meetings, no discussions. Donald Trump has held them back from having even a meaningful engagement…

BASH: You’re right down the hall from Mike Johnson’s office. I know exactly where you are.

You could probably take a few steps, knock on the door, and talk to him. Have you tried that?

JEFFRIES: Uhh, Speaker Johnson hasn’t been given permission to have a conversation with me or Leader Schumer. And he said as much earlier today.

BASH: So you don’t think he would talk to you at all?

JEFFRIES: We could have a conversation, but the problem is that unless they get the green light to have a meaningful discussion to find common ground…Any conversation is not going to be fruitful.
