The Lakewood Police Department is asking people who are in the area of 110th Street and 25th Avenue South to leave the area while they try to negotiate with a burglary suspect.
Just after 9:00 a.m. police say they were dispatched to the Pick and Pull on 112 Street South.
When they arrived, officers say they saw someone scale a fence topped with razor wire onto Joint Base Lewis-McChord property and ran into a nearby business.
Officers say that just before 9:30 a.m. shots were fired.
People inside the business ran off and the suspect is the only known person inside of the building.
Police negotiators are on scene working to bring a peaceful resolution.
