Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars had never released music together before 2024, and when the two pop superstars teamed up, it was an event, and the entire world sat up and paid attention. Their duet, “Die With a Smile,” quickly became a smash all around the planet, and in the months since it dropped, it’s also become one of the longest-running wins of their careers. The tune has been a mainstay on the Billboard Global 200 for more than half a year now, and this frame, it not only continues to dominate, it makes history yet again.

“Die With a Smile” Keeps at No. 1

“Die With a Smile” is steady at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, the chart company’s ranking of the most popular songs in the world, which is compiled using a methodology that blends sales and streaming data from over dozens of territories. The tune snags its fourteenth week in charge, further establishing itself as one of the longest-running leaders in the list’s history.

The Gaga/Mars collaboration has now spent 32 frames somewhere on the Billboard Global 200, and as it racks up another win, it breaks out of a tie with a fellow massive hit and creeps even closer to another record.

Lady Gaga Breaks Her Tie With Miley Cyrus

Last week, “Die With a Smile” tied with Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” as the third longest-running No. 1 hit on the Billboard Global 200. That single topped the chart for 13 weeks in 2023. But with another turn in the lead, Gaga and Mars officially move past that track, claiming sole ownership of third place. That means “Flowers” is pushed down to fourth on the all-time ranking, at least for the moment.

Lady Gaga May Soon Tie Harry Styles

“Die With a Smile” appears like it will remain at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 next week. If it does, it will tie Harry Styles’ “As It Was,” which spent 15 frames in charge back in 2022. That would put the two hits in a shared second place on the all-time ranking.

Mariah Carey Still Holds the All-Time Record

Even as “Die With a Smile” continues to climb the historic roster, it still has some catching up to do. Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” holds the record for the most weeks spent atop the Billboard Global 200, with 19 total. It has earned those frames across five separate holiday seasons since 2020, as it is an annual chart-topper.

Bruno Mars Dominates Both of Billboard’s Global Charts

While “Die With a Smile” holds at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, it no longer rules the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Instead, another one of Mars’ tracks sits on top. His collaboration with Rosé of Blackpink, “Apt.,” is steady at No. 1 on the global chart that excludes American data. That tune earns its nineteenth week in charge, extending its lead while “Die With a Smile” sits just one rung below, holding at No. 2.
