Kendrick Lamar capped off a truly fantastic 2024 with the release of his latest album, GNX. The full-length became a massive commercial win all around the world in November when it dropped, and it’s continued to sell–and especially stream–very well in the months since.
Following his big night at the 2025 Grammys and his highly-watched Super Bowl Halftime Show, all things connected to the rapper are climbing on charts seemingly everywhere. GNX benefits in a huge way, especially in the United Kingdom, where the set has become a bestseller across every available format.
GNX debuts on two different charts in the U.K. this week. Lamar’s recent project opens in third place on both the Official Physical Albums and Official Vinyl Albums charts, becoming an instant top 10 bestseller months after it first dropped and reached a number of other tallies.
Lamar doubles his total accumulation of top 10s on the Official Physical Albums chart as GNX arrives. It almost matches his career high, as his 2022 release Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers rose all the way to the runner-up spot.
The rapper has earned twice as many top 10 hits on the Official Vinyl Albums chart, as apparently he’s a strong seller on that once-thought-dead medium. GNX also narrowly fails to match Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers as his highest-rising career placement, as that 2022 offering missed out on the No. 1 spot by just a single space. His earlier works, To Pimp a Butterfly and Damn., have previously topped out at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.
As GNX debuts on those two sales-focused lists, it also returns to three other rosters. It’s back at No. 1 on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart, and comes close to that position on the Official Albums Sales ranking. GNX establishes a new peak on that all-encompassing purchase-centric tally as it reappears at No. 3.
The title didn’t sell quite as well via platforms like iTunes and Amazon as it did on physical mediums, as GNX re-enters the Official Album Downloads chart at No. 11. It’s the only one of seven U.K. rankings where Lamar’s recent album fails to find space inside the top 10.
GNX hit No. 1 on the main ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.K. last week following The Grammys. Now, it’s dipped only to No. 3. The title is also streaming incredibly well yet again, as it’s back inside the top 10 on the Official Albums Streaming chart. That’s the only roster where Lamar’s studio effort climbs, as opposed to returns, and it surges from No. 24 to No. 9 after once running the show.
