Justin Bieber unfollowed his wife Hailey Bieber on Instagram on Tuesday morning, and dedicated fans of the singer noticed immediately.

It didn’t take long for the speculation to start, as gossip-hungry fans quickly came to their own conclusions, with some suggesting that the two were experiencing marital trouble.

What Happened With Justin Bieber’s Instagram?

Justin unfollowing his wife came hours after he posted a photo of Hailey, describing her on his Instagram Story as, “The greatest woman I have and will ever know.”

In the wake of the affectionate post, it seemed strange that Justin would unfollow his wife, especially considering that his Instagram account is under constant surveillance from curious fans.

Not long after the rumor mill started turning, Justin re-followed Hailey, and posted an explanation on Instagram, writing:

“Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife. Sh*t is getting suss out here.”

Not everyone was satisfied by Justin’s post, and some fans found his explanation to be “sus.”

Some fans clarified that the two were on vacation in Aspen together, and expressed hope that their marriage would stay strong, as the couple have a 5-month old son together.

Others expressed the belief that the brief Instagram unfollowing was an attention-grabbing PR stunt, as there has been speculation that Justin is due to release a new album in 2025.

Some even made memes imagining the two laughing at the online speculation.

The Biebers are used to dismissing online rumors about their marriage, which is an almost constant topic among their fans, with speculation sometimes expanding into elaborate fanfiction.

In fact, Bieber fans have been frantically speculating about the state of Justin and Hailey’s relationship ever since the two got together.

Justin’s previous relationship with Selena Gomez, which lasted from 2011 to 2018, was the subject of many gossip headlines and messy rumors. Even Gomez’s recent engagement to Benny Blanco hasn’t put a stop to the incessant speculation from fans.

Fans have tried to decipher meaning from Justin and Selena’s random Instagram posts, crafting narratives about the two pining after each other, often based on little more than song lyrics and pictures.

Recently, Hailey even acknowledged the often-unhinged discourse with a meme, reposting a TikTok video to her Instagram story which showed a man laughing while repeating the line, “You’re not well, and it’s OK.”

Hailey captioned the clip, “me to all of you on the internet.”
