21-year-old Edan Alexander, who grew up in Tenafly, New Jersey, left home to join the Israeli Defense Forces after graduating from high school. He was captured by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2024. Today, after 525 days in captivity, it was announced that the young American-Israeli citizen will be the final living US-Israeli citizen to be released by the Palestinian terror group. Along with Edan Alexander, Hamas claims they will deliver the remains of four murdered dual citizens. The announcement comes as part of a three-part Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal that, under Joe Biden, seemed impossible.
Edan is the oldest of three siblings. The Alexander family were guests at Joe Biden’s State of the Union. During an interview with the far-left Forward, Adi Alexander, the father of the soon to be freed hostage, explained how going to Biden’s SOTU speech was “a great honor.” Adi told the leftist publication, “To be there, and for the administration to honor the parents and focus on the ongoing crisis” is important.” But unfortunately, Adi and other members of the families of hostages, they were relying on the skills of a pretend President with a weak administration, including National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, who didn’t have the ability or will to bring them home.
Everything changed for the fate of the hostages and their families only days after President Trump’s inauguration.
Only days after President Trump took office, he threatened the violent and sub-human terrorists unless all hostages were returned.

Last week, in a statement he made on his Truth Social platform, President Trump warned Hamas to release all of the hostages and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people they murdered “or it is OVER for you!” he warned. “Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted!” he said.
“This is your last warning!” President Trump told the sick terror group.

After a December 2023 meeting with Biden and other families of the remaining American hostages in Gaza, Jonathan Dekel-Chen, the father of 35-year-old hostage Sagui Dekel-Chen, told the AJC, “We felt before, and we were only reinforced in seeing and believing, that we could have no better friend in Washington or in the White House than President Biden himself.”
On March 5, 2024, Biden said in a statement, “The hostage deal is in the hands of Hamas right now… there’s been a rational offer. The Israelis have agreed to it… We’ll know in a couple of days if it’s going to happen.”
Joe Biden included the families of Hamas hostages as “props” at his final State of the Union.
One year later, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff told the media that achieving the release of Alexander from Hamas was a “top priority” for President Trump and his administration.
In February, an American-Israeli citizen, Sagui Dekel-Chen, was released from Hamas captivity.
For weeks, the soldier’s mother, Yael Alexander, has been watching the release of hostages from Gaza, hoping she soon might see her son’s name on a list of those to be freed.
“This is a critical time,” Yael said last month. “I know my son is probably in tunnels, so I understand that he’s not seeing sunlight, and the air is very thin underground.”
She added: “It’s very, very difficult for me to even think about it.”
Meanwhile, leftist college students, many of them in America on student visas, as well as American citizens inspired by their antisemitic professors, are still defending Hamas at America’s most “prestigious” campuses, including Columbia University, where the pro-Hamas foreign student Mahmoud Khalili attended school and is now set to be deported over his radical anti-American and antisemitic activities.
