Jonathan Joss, who is remembered for his five-episode stint as Chief Ken Hotate on sitcom Parks and Recreation and the second voice of John Redcorn on the animated King of the Hill, was shot to death in San Antonio, Texas on June 1. He was 59.

According to TMZ, Joss got into a heated argument with his neighbor at a house on the city’s south side Sunday night. The neighbor, Sigfredo Alvarez-Cega, was arrested and charged with murder.

From 1994 to 1997, Joss appeared in six episodes of the western drama Walker, Texas Ranger.

In 1997, Joss replaced Victor Aaron as the voice of John Recorn on King of the Hill following his passing and clocked in 35 episodes of the long-running animated comedy. TV guest spots through the course of Joss’ career included dramas Charmed, ER, In Plain Sight and Ray Donovan, and the aforementioned Parks and Recreation. More recently, Joss appeared in two episodes of the Sylvester Stallone mob drama Tulsa King in 2022.
