With six solo Hot 100 hits, Jennie ties BTS’s J-Hope, Jimin, and V, making her one of the most … More
Getty ImagesJennie continues to regularly make history on the Billboard charts, not just as a member of one of the biggest girl groups on the planet, but now as a solo star in her own right. The Blackpink singer is back on the Hot 100 this week with a pair of brand new tracks, and thanks to their immediate popularity, she advances to a rare position among K-pop artists who have managed to reach the competitive American tally.
Jennie Debuts Two New Songs on the Hot 100
This week, Jennie sees two tracks from her debut solo album Ruby debut on the Hot 100. “Handlebars,” a duet with Dua Lipa, opens at No. 80, while “Like Jennie” isn’t far behind, kicking off its run at No. 83.
These latest wins bring her career total to six entries on the list of the most-consumed songs in the U.S., which is enough to place her among the most successful K-pop acts to ever reach the chart.
Jennie Climbs the All-Time K-Pop Ranking
Before “Handlebars” and “Like Jennie” arrived, Jennie was tied with Suga, one of the beloved members of BTS, on the list of K-pop artists with the most Hot 100 appearances. Now, she pushes ahead of solo stars like Lisa, Psy, and NewJeans, and moves into a tie with J-Hope, Jimin, and V — three of her fellow K-pop heavyweights who also boast six charting singles on the Hot 100.
Among soloists, Jennie now shares the second-most hits of all time, behind only Jung Kook. Only BTS, with 27 smashes, and her own group Blackpink, with nine, have managed more appearances on the tally.
J-Hope Joins the Six-Hit Club
Jennie isn’t the only K-pop soloist making big moves on the list of the most popualr songs in the U.S. this week. BTS singer and rapper J-Hope also reaches the six-hit milestone, as his new cut “Sweet Dreams,” a collaboration with Miguel, launches at No. 66 on the Hot 100.
Jennie’s Solo Chart History
Jennie first landed on the Hot 100 in late 2023 with “One of the Girls,” a collaboration with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp. That cut rose as high as No. 51, and stayed on the list for an impressive 20 weeks.
While she shared that track with two other artists, the rest of her solo Hot 100 wins have been hers alone — and they all come from her debut full-length, Ruby.
The highest-charting song from the collection is “ExtraL,” a team-up with Doechii that once rose as high as No. 75. Now, with “Handlebars” and “Like Jennie” arriving, all five of her solo Hot 100 hits can be found on her debut project. The two other tunes from Ruby that charted — “Love Hangover” with Dominic Fike (No. 96) and “Mantra” (No. 98) — only spent a short time in the lower rungs of the ranking.
