Paddington in Peru, the third feature in the hit “Paddington” movie series is apparently coming soon to digital streaming.

Paddington in Peru was released in theaters on Feb. 14. Based on the iconic character Paddington Bear created by legendary British author Michael Bond, the Paddington movies are all live-action and animated movie hybrids. The first Paddington movie was released in 2014, while Paddington 2 came out in 2017.

The official summary for the movie reads, “Paddington in Peru follows Paddington Bear (voice of Ben Wishaw) and the Brown family as they visit Aunt Lucy (voice of Imelda Staunton) in Peru. A thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and to the mountain peaks of Peru.”

Directed by Dougal Wilson, the cast of Paddington in Peru also includes Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Antonio Banderas, Olivia Colman, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin and Jim Broadbent.

Paddington in Peru is expected to be released on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, April 1, according to When to Stream.

While When to Stream is typically accurate with its PVOD reports, the streaming tracker noted that Paddington’s studio Sony Pictures Entertainment has not announced or confirmed the release date and it is subject to change.

Paddington in Peru is listed for pre-order at Prime Video for $24.99, which is also the film’s purchase price. Since PVOD rental prices are typically $5 less than purchase prices, viewers can expect to be able to rent Paddington in Peru for a 48-hour for $19.99.

New PVOD releases are generally available on a variety of digital platforms, so in addition to Prime Video, viewers will be able to purchase or rent the film at online retailers like AppleTV and Fandango at Home.

How Was ‘Paddington In Peru’ Received By Audiences And Critics?

Paddington in Peru has earned $44.5 million domestically and $146.3 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $190.8 million to date against a $75.3 million production budget before prints and advertising, according to The Numbers.

The film earned a 93% “fresh” rating based on 178 reviews from Rotten Tomatoes critics. The RT Critics Consensus for the film reads, “Paddington in Peru whisks away cinema’s politest bear to a fresh setting under new creative stewardship, delivering a most agreeable adventure for the whole family.”

In addition, Paddington in Peru earned a 91% “fresh” score on RT’s Popcornmeter based on 1,000-plus verified user ratings. RT’s audience summary reads, “Paddington in Peru whisks away cinema’s politest bear to a fresh setting under new creative stewardship, delivering a most agreeable adventure for the whole family.”

Rated PG, Paddington in Peru is expected to arrive on PVOD on Tuesday.
