For the second week in a row, Vicky Kaushal’s historic film Chhaava made it to Netflix’s weekly list of most-viewed non-English films on the platform. The war saga ranked fourth on the list and was the only Hindi film on the list. The Telugu film Court State Vs A Nobody also made it to the list for the week ending April 22.

The Hindi film Chhaava, and the Telugu film Court State Vs A Nobody made it to the list of most-watched non-English films on Netflix for second week in a row. Last week, Chhaava and Court State Vs A Nobody featured on the list along with the Tamil film Test and Hindi movie Deva.
Netflix Global top 10: Chhaava ranks fifth
Chhaava recorded 3.3 million views in its second week on the platform, making it to the fifth rank on Netflix’s list for the week. The film registered 8.8 million watch-hours for the week ending April 22. The film also ranked on top of most-viewed films in India and Pakistan while making it to the top in thirteen countries including Sri Lanka, UAE, Bangladesh, Mauritius and Nigeria.
Last week, Chhaava recorded 2.2 million views and 5.9 million watch-hours on the platform making it as the fourth most-viewed non-English film on the list. The war saga landed online on April 11.
Chhaava traces the bravery and patriotism of Indian warrior king Sambhaji Maharaj during the times of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb in India. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava features Vicky Kaushal in the lead role of Chhatrapathi Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji and Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife in the film. Ashutosh Rana plays the role of his uncle while Vineet Kumar Singh essays the role of his close friend and poet Kavi Kalash. Akshaye Khanna plays the main antagonist, Aurangzeb. Netflix Global top 10: Court State Vs Nobody ranks sixth
The Telugu film Court State Vs A Nobody ranked sixth on Netflix’s list of most-viewed non-English films this week. It recorded 2.9 million views and 7.2 million watch hours this week. Last week, the film ranked on fifth spot and recorded 2.2 million views and 5.5 million watch hours on the platform. The film released online on April 11, nearly a month after the theatrical release on March 14. Court State Vs A Nobody also topped the list of most-watched films in Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bangladesh. It also made it to the top ten in fourteen countries.
Directed by debutant Ram Jagadeesh, Court – State vs. A Nobody features Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Sridevi, Sivaji and Harsh Roshan. It made a decent box office collection of nearly $6 million in its theatrical run. The film revolves around the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act in India – a law which deals with sexual offenses against minors. Court State Vs Nobody focuses on the misuse of power, the law and how the have-nots often face the brunt of it all even if they are not guilty.
