HILLSDALE — A Hudson woman arrested with her husband Jan. 8 after a high-speed police chase and hours-long manhunt appeared in the 1st Judicial Circuit Court Monday, March 17, for sentencing.

Sarha Lynne Brown, 48, pleaded guilty to resisting arrest Jan. 27 during formal arraignment on the charge.

Brown was sentenced to six months in jail March 17 and still has to answer to two counts of probation violation out of Lenawee County for similar offenses, Hillsdale County Prosecutor Jamie Wisniewski said, noting she had absconded from probation and has a pending warrant for a new offense.

Her husband and co-defendant, Patrick Everette Brown, 52, pleaded guilty to third-degree fleeing police, resisting arrest and misdemeanor traffic violations on Feb. 24 and is tentatively scheduled for sentencing at 8:30 a.m. on April 14.

On Jan. 8, a Hillsdale County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop the Browns, operating a mini-van, for expired registration tags and no insurance but the vehicle took off at a high-rate of speed eastbound on Reading Road in Cambria Township.

Deputies were able to converge on the area as the pursuit made its way across the southern half of Hillsdale County, and stop sticks were successfully deployed.

The pursuing units lost sight of the vehicle just south of Pittsford and terminated the pursuit; however, the vehicle was found a few minutes later. According to deputies Sarha Brown attempted to run on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Several hours of additional searching led to the arrest of Patrick Brown who had fled into a wooded area in his attempt to evade the law.
