Louisville and other commonwealth regions are expected to see some rainfall in the coming days as a storm system sweeps through Kentucky.
The National Weather Service said in a Wednesday morning update that widespread to heavy rain through the weekend, with 2-4 inches possible Saturday into Sunday, could bring a risk of flash and river flooding. Here’s what we know about the forecast in the coming days.

Wednesday
Chance of precipitation is 80% with drizzle likely before 3 p.m. followed by rain. Precipitation amounts of between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. High near 40 with patchy fog and east winds of 3-6 mph.
Wednesday night has a 80% chance of precipitation with rain mainly before 11 p.m. Between a tenth and quarter of an inch of new precipitation is possible. Patchy fog before 1 a.m. with a low near 29 and winds becoming west of 5 to 10 mph in the evening.
Thursday
Cloudy skies gradually become clear with a high near 34 and west winds of 10 mph. Low near 19 with winds becoming calm through the evening.
Friday
Mostly sunny with a high near 41. Calm winds become southeast of 6 mph in the afternoon. Friday night has a 70% chance of showers after 1 a.m. with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 36. Precipitation amounts of between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday
Chance of precipitation is 90% to 100% with showers expected. High near 52 and low around 32.
Sunday
Chance of precipitation is 50% with a chance of rain and snow showers before 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38 and low of 15.
