The House passed a resolution on Friday honoring Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, with 58 Democrats voting against the resolution, 38 voting present, and 22 not voting.
The House voted 310-58 to pass the resolution honoring the life of Kirk who was assassinated on September 10 while speaking to a crowd at Utah Valley University. The resolution said Kirk was a “courageous American patriot” who aimed to “elevate truth.”
The vote served as a tense moment for House Democrats, many whom did not agree with Kirk’s politics but felt compelled to vote for the measure to denounce his brutal killing.
