Hendrick Motorsports is expanding its Nascar Xfinity Series program for the 2025 season. The No. 17 Chevrolet will appear in 16 races, enabling its Cup Series drivers to get more reps and for 19-year-old Corey Day to get acclimated to the series.
The No. 17 car will once again sport the HendrickCars.com colors, promoting the virtual version of Hendrick Automotive Group, which has 30,000 cars available.
“We’re pleased to continue our sponsorship of the No. 17 team, which has driven significant traffic to HendrickCars.com and helped support the broader goals of Hendrick Automotive Group,” Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports and chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group, said in a statement.
Day, who recently signed a development deal with the organization, will pilot the No. 17 car in 10 races, beginning at Martinsville Speedway on March 29.
The team’s first race will be at Circuit of The Americas, where Daytona 500 champion William Byron will get some additional reps at the road course. Byron will also compete at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May.
The other Hendrick Cup drivers of Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman will each run at least one race in the car. Adam Wall will serve as the No. 17 team’s crew chief.
“With Adam, we have one of the sharpest young crew chiefs in the garage area leading our team,” Hendrick said. “The Xfinity Series competition is tough, and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”
The No. 17 car has two wins since Hendrick Motorsports revived its Xfinity Series program.
