Philadelphia officials said Thursday they are ready for Sunday’s Super Bowl and what may come after the final score in New Orleans. Fans coming to the city to watch and perhaps celebrate a Philadelphia Eagles win need to be prepared for closed roads, transportation delays and other restrictions.

Here are road closures and SEPTA information ahead of the big game.

Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said there will be road closures in Center City, the Northeast and other areas of the city as is the department’s common practice.

Philadelphia officials anticipate road closures on Sunday for the Super Bowl.

Road closures along S. Broad Street from Lombard to Chestnut streets, including side streets, may go into effect the morning of Sunday, Feb. 9, city officials said.

“It may be necessary to implement additional temporary traffic closures to maintain public safety in the vicinity of City Hall and surrounding Center City streets between 12th and 16th Streets and Spring Garden and Lombard Streets, as well as the 676 ramp at Broad Street, east and west,” according to the city.

Northeast Philadelphia closures

In the Northeast, these are the anticipated road closures:

  • Frankford Avenue (Princeton Avenue to Bleigh Avenue)

  • Cottman Avenue (Leon Street to Erdrick Street)

  • Ryan Avenue (Leon Street to Erdrick Street)

  • Charles Street (Princeton Avenue to Cottman Avenue)

  • Erdrick Street (Wellington Street to Tudor Street)

  • Saint Vincent Street, Wellington Street, Englewood Street,  Aldine Street and Tudor Street

Anticipated road closures in South Philadelphia

  • Oregon Avenue (13th Street to 15th Street)

  • S. Broad Street (Oregon Avenue to Porter Street)

  • Shunk Street (S. Broad Street to W. Moyamensing Avenue)

  • W. Moyamensing Avenue (Juniper Street to S. Broad Street)

SEPTA routes on Super Bowl Sunday in Philadelphia

On Sunday, there may be several temporary SEPTA route detours or service interruptions on mass transit, officials said in a news release. They also cautioned about delays.

The following stations may be temporarily closed on Sunday evening:

  • Market-Frankford Line: 15th Street, City Hall, 13th Street, 11th Street

  • Broad Street Line: Walnut-Locust, City Hall, Race-Vine

  • Regional Rail Lines: Suburban Station and Market East
