Gateway Pundit reporter Elijah Schaffer has been shot with a rubber bullet and a tear gas canister while covering the increasingly violent ongoing riot in Los Angeles.

The riot is part of the “No Kings” protests, which are taking place nationwide on Saturday.

An unlawful assembly was called at the LA protest in the late afternoon, and Schaffer filmed the United States Marine Corps and National Guard working together for crowd control.

After the unlawful assembly was declared, Schaffer documented multiple people in confrontations with officers and reported that there were “multiple injuries.”

Shortly after 5 p.m. local time, Schaffer wrote that “police are using tear gas and crowd control munitions to break up the crowd.”

“Though I identified as press and had my badges / credentials displayed, an officer still shot me with a rubber bullet,” Schaffer reported. “Another shot a tear gas can at me. They are targeting press.”

Schaffer reported that “5,000-10,000 people still remain” in the protest area, despite the crowd control measures and promises of arrests.

The riot in Los Angeles is ongoing and The Gateway Pundit will continue to provide updates as the situation unfolds.
