Wilson just released from the DC Gulag

Guest Post by Daniel Goodwyn

They tried to break him. They nearly succeeded. But today, Ryan Wilson is home, alive, grateful — and still fighting for his family’s future.

A wheat farmer from Athena, Oregon, Ryan Wilson is not just another name in a long list of January 6 patriots who have suffered under the weight of government persecution. He’s a husband, a father, and a miracle survivor of a devastating spinal cord stroke that once left him paralyzed from the neck down.

Years before January 6, Ryan found the strength to defy the odds and walk again. But nothing could prepare him or his family for the nightmare that followed after peacefully attending the rally in Washington, D.C., alongside his father, Duke Wilson.

“I don’t know why I didn’t start crying,” Ryan said, recalling the moment he saw his wife again after being released from jail. “Several times, I was certain I would die in there and never see my family again.”

During his time in Southeast Three, (a unit of the DC Jail) Ryan credits fellow J6ers Rockne Earls and Mike Bradley as key sources of strength and support while enduring the ordeal. Wilson was suffering from the conditions of the DC Jail and found himself in the medical unit with paralysis setting back into his body. With treatment he was getting better but not near 100%. While he was in the medical unit, Wilson was able to look out at the nightly vigil that Micki Witthoeft and others held for 906 nights outside the DC Gulag on Freedom Corner. It gave him hope to be able to see everyone out there and it would make him emotional when waves were directed to him. He was seen. He was not forgotten.

What followed his arrest was a familiar pattern for J6ers — a system rigged to destroy. Incarceration, legal chaos, isolation from family, and financial devastation. By the grace of God, Ryan’s charges were dropped on the 21st — the day before he was scheduled to be sentenced. He was released the following day, on the 22nd. But while the court let go, the consequences didn’t.

Now, Ryan and his family — still reeling from the pain of his spinal injuries and long incarceration — are asking for help, not just to survive, but to rebuild.

They’ve launched a GiveSendGo fundraiser, and they need your support now more than ever:

This isn’t merely about politics. This is about standing by a man who stood up. It’s about honoring someone who never gave up on God, country, or family — even when it meant nearly losing everything.

Ryan’s family is not alone in this struggle. Many J6ers are still suffering in silence, with limited access to jobs, housing, or basic health care — all for the “crime” of believing in their country. That’s why StopHate.com, led by David Sumrall, has compiled a powerful list of fundraisers for J6ers still in the fight. Visit StopHate.com/SHDOD to find more ways to support the patriots the regime tried to erase.

But today — Ryan is the one asking for a lifeline. A man who raised crops to feed America, now needs America to help feed his own family.

“So many need far more help than me,” Ryan humbly said. “But I’m learning how to get the truth and story out.”

Ryan has stayed active, engaged, and eager to help others. He’s not wallowing. He’s not waiting. He’s working — through the pain, through the grief — to lift others up. That’s exactly why we should lift him up now.

For the safety of his loved ones, Ryan asks for privacy regarding his family, as they continue to face harassment and threats.

Back in the fields where he loves to be.

If you’ve ever wondered how, you could make a difference in this battle, this is your chance. Don’t wait until another patriot loses everything before we act.
