EXCLUSIVE VIDEO – Why Did a Polling Location In Northern Virginia Suddenly Close Down On Primary Election Day?

On Tuesday night there were several primary elections in key states across the country. One of those states was Virginia.

One polling location in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, which was open during early voting, mysteriously closed down on election day, the most important day of the primary cycle.

These events are recent, as this polling location was open earlier this year during the vote for the Virginia redistricting referendum.

This polling location also doubles as the Alexandria Voter Registration office and is across the street from the Alexandria City Hall, which is undergoing heavy renovation.

It was allegedly open for early voting, but when the Gateway Pundit came across it on election day there was a big sign that said “This location is NOT a polling site on election day,” which implies that it still could’ve been open for early voting. Why?

What if election day is the only day that some people have the time vote? What if there are some people that could only come to vote last minute before the polls close and they never received a notification?

I came to Old Town Alexandria to vote in the Virginia primaries and I found this sign.

This polling location is the Alexandria Voter Registration Office.

I early voted here in 2024 and voted here on Election Day in 2025.

The Gateway Pundit came across a couple of locals who were also trying to vote at the same polling location that day and spoke with them. They wished to remain anonymous.

In an exclusive interview, the locals informed the TGP that this polling location had been moved a couple of blocks away. The new location was the Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy, an elementary school in Alexandria.

The locals had received an email notification “a while ago” that this polling location was moving somewhere else on Election Day, but what about those who did not get that same notification? How would they know?

The locals also confirmed that they came to this polling location on general election day in 2025.

You can listen to the conversation here.

I had a conversation with two locals in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia on primary Election Day.

They informed me that an old polling location near city hall was moved to the Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy.

The sign telling people that this location would not be available on election day did not inform anyone passing by that their new location was at the Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy.

There were no additional directories or signs, just a QR code that helps you find your polling location.

The issue with relying solely on a QR code is that it is classist, as not everyone has access to a working smartphone and reliable internet. What if these people still want to exercise their right to vote?

TGP decided to investigate further and headed to the Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy. Upon arrival, TGP spoke with a precinct captain with the Alexandria Democrats. He was also the precinct captain for the polling location that closed.

The precinct captain also wished to remain anonymous.

In an exclusive interview, the captain informed TGP that Lyles-Crouch was turned into a duel-polling location, as Lyles Crouch was already it’s own polling location before the Alexandria Voter Registration Office was closed down as a polling location.

If your precinct was at the registration office, then you will have to vote at Lyles-Crouch. If your precinct is at Lyles-Crouch, then you will still have to vote there. This also includes the general election in November.

The precinct captain told the Gateway Pundit that the reason for the closure of the Voter Registration office is allegedly because of the construction at City Hall. He also admitted that these sudden change of events were confusing even to him.

I spoke with the Democratic precinct captain of that closed polling location.

He informed me that the Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy will absorb the City Hall precinct for the next two years because City Hall is under construction.

The precinct captain also told TGP that in addition to the construction at City Hall, the polling location was closed for primary election day “because this is a low turnout election.”

You can listen to the conversation here.

The Alexandria City Hall may be under construction, but it sits across the street from the polling location and is a completely different building for the Voter Registration Office.

Why is it temporarily closed for two years just because a neighboring building is under construction?

A polling location in Alexandria, Virginia is closed on Election Day and lumped together with a different polling location down the street.

Not everyone was notified of this sort of thing.

More details for the @gatewaypundit coming soon. pic.twitter.com/OdXXanp7Ak

What do these two buildings have to do with each other? Why is a polling location closed on election day because a building across the street from it is under construction?

Democrats outnumber Republicans in Alexandria three to one. Kamala Harris won Alexandria, Virginia in 2024 by 58 points.

The City Council and Mayor’s office are run exclusively by Democrats, meaning they make all major decisions for the city, including this one.

I spoke to a couple of locals and precinct captains at a nearby polling location.

I was told that Alexandria, City Hall right across the street is being remodeled and that’s why this location will be closed the next two years, it will be lumped with another.@gatewaypundit pic.twitter.com/QmasDwKeL6

Is this voter suppression? Is this meant to disenfranchise voters? Should this sort of thing even be allowed to happen?

These questions need to be answered, as the voters of Alexandria deserve better than this disorganized mess.
