The left has a radical element within their party leading to the violence in the United States, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) said during an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday, discussing the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk.
Donalds, the leading candidate to be Florida’s next governor, described Kirk as “irreplaceable.”
“You’re not going to find another — like he’s the type of person who would move heaven and earth to help anybody, and I’ve seen it happen,” he began.
“It wasn’t just about his politics and his faith, it was about the type of man that he was, and that’s why he was able to grow an organization to be the preeminent conservative action group for young people in the country,” Donalds continued, noting that he told Kirk during President Trump’s inauguration, “We wouldn’t be here without you.”
“It’s a sad situation in America that, you know, a preeminent voice, somebody who engaged everybody, and it wasn’t just conservatives. He engaged everybody. He was thoughtful. He was respectful, and for him to lose his life doing a thing that he loved to do, it’s a dark day for America. But Charlie’s in heaven, and we’re going to just pick up the mantle and keep going,” he said.
Donalds addressed the emergence of political violence when host Matthew Boyle asked about Donalds calling out his colleague Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) for using the same kind of rhetoric that Kirk’s alleged assassin had inscribed on the bullets found inside what authorities believe is the murder weapon.
“The radical left is just crazy. They have no policy. All they do is blame shift, deflect, call names. You know, their latest thing is trying to, you know, call us all fascists. It’s a lie. It’s obviously not true. But they don’t care, and they don’t care about the ramifications,” he said, stressing that Democrats must be defeated politically.
Further, he said the onus is on Democrats to fix the radical element within their own party.
“They need to fix this in their party. They have a rogue element that does not believe in the Constitution, does not believe in free speech, does not believe in the Bill of Rights, but then does believe in dehumanizing people to the point where, obviously with what’s happened with Charlie, people lose their lives just for speaking their mind and having a political viewpoint, having a religious viewpoint, having a Western civilization worldview,” the congressman said.
“And if that now means for the radical left to succeed that we must all die, then they can never succeed,” he emphasized.
If the left can cannot get control of their party, Donalds continued, they do not deserve to have any power in the U.S.
“Because this radical element in their party is leading to the violence in the United States — political violence in the United States. That is a fact,” Donalds said, adding that lawmakers will be investigating how these radical groups are “being funded, [and] who’s manipulating these groups in order to foment unrest and political violence in the United States.”

“The time has long come to do that, and we’re going to get to the bottom of it once and for all. I’m more than happy to debate Democrats on policy, or people who might be nonpartisan, or they might be independent, but I respect your humanity,” he said, pointing out the difference with the “insane left.”
Donalds said he can disagree with political dissenters, but at the end of the day, he wants them to be able to go home to their families. Meanwhile, the left uses dehumanizing rhetoric against conservatives, which he said makes us “less safe.”
“That’s not America. It is un-American to do that. And look, I get it in politics is tough language. You know, it’s tough language used all the time, and that’s just the way it is. But we don’t dehumanize each other. We can disagree, we can vehemently disagree, we can argue about it, but I want you to be able to go home and see your families,” he added.
