A young man has been arrested on a murder charge in connection with a stabbing that killed a man at a West Side home over the weekend, El Paso police officials said.
Raymundo Morales III, 19, allegedly killed Angel Martin Herrera, 40, during a domestic violence incident early Sunday at a house in the 5800 block of Beaumont Place, police said in a news statement.

Morales also faces a charge of assault-family violence by impeding breath or circulation, according to El Paso County Jail records.
Morales in being held at the El Paso County Jail in Downtown on a total bond of $700,000 on the murder and family violence charges.

About 4 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, police responded to a family violence call at a home on Beaumont Place next to Fremont Lane in the Cresmont neighborhood, officials said. Officers found Herrera had been stabbed. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Morales was taken into custody that same morning.

The connection between Herrera and Morales has not been disclosed. An investigation by detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit continues.
