The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft interviews Vice President JD Vance for the ‘Vindicated’ Conference in Las Vegas

With three years until the 2028 US presidential election’s final sprint, Vice President JD Vance remains the clear frontrunner to become the 48th President of the United States.

Per Oddschecker, the current betting odds for 48th President of the United States are as follows.

JD Vance +225

Gavin Newsom +350

Donald Trump Sr. +700

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez +1000

Pete Buttigieg +1200

Marco Rubio +1200

Kamala Harris +1600

Donald Trump Jr. +1600

In August 2025, Vice President JD Vance granted an exclusive interview with The Gateway Pundit to discuss the historic achievements of President Trump’s second term, the Trump administration’s daily battle against censorship, and its plans to fight crime across all levels of society.

Today, Vice President Vance enjoys a high favorability rating in the Republican Party and maintains a close relationship with the Trump family; on multiple occassions, President Trump has named Vice President Vance as his potential successor.

On the Democrat side, California’s term-limited governor Gavin Newsom leads the field in presidential betting odds.

Still, Real Clear Politics polling average places Newsom in a near three-way tie with “Cackling Kamala” Harris and “Mayor Pete” Buttigieg for president.

As of August, Governor Newsom’s press office has begun employing the unusual strategy of imitating President Trump’s social media vibrato dozens of times per week across digital platforms.

Voters have received no indication of whether Newsom may find his own voice, though he seems to greatly enjoy imitating President Trump’s gravitas.

Notably, President Trump himself enjoys more favorable betting odds to win the 2028 election than all but two candidates.

President Trump has stated that quips of “Trump 2028” are made mainly in jest. Still, his legacy could prevail under another candidate with President Trump’s backing.

For Democrats, far-left Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and corporate shill Pete Buttigieg enjoy relatively short odds to become the 48th President of the United States, despite demonstrating minimal capacity for critical thinking and problem-solving, respectively.

With equal betting odds to Ocasio-Cortez and Buttigieg, Secretary of State Marco Rubio has gained major popularity in the Republican Party during his historic tenure as Secretary of State, while simultaneously serving as National Security Advisor, USAID Administrator, and US Archivist.

Although Vice President Vance holds the advantage over Secretary Rubio in the presidential line of succession, “Vance-Rubio 2028” remains a very popular ideal ticket within the Republican Party.

For Democrats, even after passing on a run for California Governor in 2026, failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris has notably fallen to 4th place in her party’s betting odds—with odds more than twice as long as President Trump’s own.

Finally, Donald Trump Jr. holds the same odds as Kamala Harris to become the 48th President of the United States, despite repeatedly expressing his disinterest in the job. Trump Jr. maintains a very close friendship with Vice President Vance.
