Drake has eight albums on the Billboard 200 this week, and all of them are climbing as he prepares … [+]
In just a few days, Drake will almost certainly hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 once more. The rapper teamed up with longtime friend and collaborator PartyNextDoor for the full-length Some Sexy Songs 4 U, which looks like it’s headed for a lofty start on America’s main albums ranking.
Ahead of another massive success, Drake is climbing on the Billboard 200. He doesn’t just see one, or two, or even three of his albums step up, but all eight of his currently-present titles improve by at least one space on Billboard’s ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.S.
One of Drake’s oldest releases is still his top performer this time around. Take Care is the only Drake project to appear inside the top 40 on the current Billboard 200. That title, which was originally released in 2011, bolts from No. 44 to No. 28.
Three more full-lengths live inside the upper half of the 200-space chart. For All the Dogs (No. 61), Views (No. 70), and Certified Lover Boy (No. 82) all step up by at least half a dozen spaces, with the higher-rising two improving by more than 10 at once.
Half of all of Drake’s current albums on the Billboard 200 appear in the lowest 50% of the ranking. Scorpion improves from No. 127 to No. 113. More Life jumps from No. 180 to No. 162. Her Loss, a collaborative release with 21 Savage, and Thank Me Later sit just four spaces apart at Nos. 170 and 174, respectively.
One other collection by Drake appears on a Billboard chart, but not the Billboard 200. Honestly, Nevermind is steady in twelfth place on the Top Dance Albums list, though it has previously ruled the Billboard 200, as well as the tally it can still be found on.
Drake claims the second-most appearances on the Billboard 200 this frame. Only Taylor Swift beats him—and not by much. The singer-songwriter fills nine rungs, just one more than Drake’s impressive eight.
