The Democratic Party has become so desperate to defame and insult President Trump’s boldest White House renovation that no lie is too big as long as it makes a good story. But in one case this week, their lies became too much even for their left-wing media allies.

As The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft reported, construction began this week on the new Big Beautiful White House Ballroom that will have room for nearly 1,000 guests for future White House social events and state dinners with world leaders.

Trump previously announced that he was planning to build the new ballroom at the White House and told reporters that he’s paying for the $200 million project.

President Trump added, “They’ve wanted a ballroom at the White House for more than 150 years, but there’s never been a President that was good at ballrooms.

“I’m really good. I’m good at building things, and we’ll get it built quickly and on time.”

The popular liberal propaganda account Acyn quoted White House Press Secretary Leavitt as saying during Thursday’s press briefing, “At this moment in time, the ballroom is really the president’s main priority.”

He wanted Americans to clearly infer that Trump prioritizes this project over anything else in the world right now.

Democrats immediately pounced on the quote, thinking they caught Leavitt in a massive, untimely gaffe.

BREAKING: In a shocking moment, Karoline Leavitt admits that, as Americans are suffering behind high grocery prices and insurance premiums, “the ballroom is really the president’s main priority.”

And #RepublicansAreAWOL.
Nobody voted for this.pic.twitter.com/b1HUpxfdho

You heard that America?

The ENTIRE East Wing is gone all so little Donald can work on his pet project. Karoline Leavitt said this morning that the ball room is Trump’s “main priority” which is both unsurprising and disgusting. pic.twitter.com/lHwOVmzLEt

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but she’s actually telling the truth. https://t.co/A2VH5uNBXe

— Robert Reich (@RBReich) October 23, 2025

karoline leavitt saying “the ballroom is really the president’s main priority” should be played on a loop in Virginia and New Jersey from now until election day.

Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, Jasmine Crockett, and the DNC also piggybacked off the quote.

“At this moment in time of course, the ballroom is really the president’s main priority.”

It’s hard to wrap your mind around it because of how callous it is.

But that’s what White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt actually said. Out loud. To press. Proudly.

Millions of Americans will see their health insurance costs skyrocket in just over a week.

— Hakeem Jeffries (@hakeemjeffries) October 23, 2025

Today, the White House Press Secretary told the country that this ridiculous damn ballroom is “the president’s main priority”…not reopening the government, not lowering the cost of groceries, not lowering the cost of housing, not lowering the cost of healthcare….building a…

However, the whole context of Leavitt’s statement was related to a reporter’s question about other projects at the White House. In the video below, you can hear Leavitt clearly saying the ballroom is Trump’s top priority in relation to any other projects at the White House.

WATCH:

Karoline Leavitt was asked if “the president is looking at any other renovations” at the White House?

Karoline answered: “At this moment in time of course, the ballroom is really the president’s main priority.”

This is how easily Democrats lie about stupid stuff. https://t.co/qGuZkvYYPV pic.twitter.com/1fBzh8sdRN

— Andrew Kolvet (@AndrewKolvet) October 23, 2025

REPORTER: Thank you. In addition to the ballroom and the Rose Garden patio, is the President looking at any other renovations or significant kind of projects here at the White House?

LEAVITT: Not to my knowledge, no, but he’s a builder at heart, clearly, and so his heart and his mind is always churning about how to improve things here on the White House grounds. But at this moment in time, of course, the ballroom is really the President’s main priority.

You may be seeing this circulating on social media – especially on Democratic X accounts- seizing on this quote from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in the briefing yesterday where she said, “at this moment in time, the ballroom is really the president’s main… https://t.co/LWiu0777e1

This lie by the Democrats got the attention of even the most surprising sources. Even CNN slammed them for lying.

Guys – this lie is so egregious even Daniel Dale is fact checking the Dems https://t.co/P4IQrQvNhO pic.twitter.com/5vcO6gLUxp

As is CBS:

@acyn This tweet is out of context: Leavitt was specifically asked if the president was considering any other rennocations or significant projects at the White House. https://t.co/0MYvq6ZxRz

From Newsnation:

And far-left Politifact:

The clip of Leavitt’s statement is real, but Jeffries and the House Democratic Caucus clipped her comments in a misleading way that removes the context: Leavitt never said the ballroom is a more important priority for the president than inflation, health care or ending the federal government shutdown.
