Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth caused a Democrat senator to go completely bonkers before the Senate today after utterly humiliating dim-witted Senator Mazie Hirono earlier.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Hegseth testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Wednesday regarding the Pentagon’s budget request.

During the hearing, he was asked multiple questions regarding the Iran-Israel conflict and military deployments in Los Angeles. However, Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) decided to take a different approach and badger Hegseth about General Timothy Haugh, who was fired in April after President Trump met with independent journalist Laura Loomer (who claimed credit for his dismissal).

“Were you consulted regarding General Haugh’s dismissal, yes or no?” she demanded.

“Well, senator, I would not advise believing everything you read in the media, and I’m consulted on every single decision. I’m the decision maker for the department, and we all serve at the pleasure of the President,” Hegseth replied.

“Did you approve of Mr. Haugh’s dismissal?” Rosen asked. “Did you personally relieve him?”

After Hegseth seemingly confirmed that he did, Rosen requested a reason for the firing. Hegseth played it smart by saying that Trump “deserves the type of commanders and advisors that he thinks will best equip him to accomplish the mission.”

After Rosen demanded whether Hegseth was in contact with Loomer (Hegseth declined to answer), Rosen tried to embarrass him with a gotcha question.

“So, do you believe it is appropriate for any social media personality to influence personnel decisions in your department, yes or no?” Rosen asked.

Upon hearing this, Hegseth quipped while appearing to smirk: “I believe your time is up, Senator.”

Seeing Hegseth refuse to play her game caused Rosen to lose her mind.

“Oh, it is not up to you to tell me when my time is up!” Rosen snapped. “I will either say this, Mr. Secretary, you are either feckless or complicit. You are not in control of your department.

Rosen then closed by flipping out over what she saw as a smirk from Hegseth.

“You are unserious…It is a dangerous and pivotal time in our nation’s history,” she whined. “I yield back, and I don’t appreciate the smirk, sir. You are the Secretary of Defense!”
