Democrat Alexander Vindman Giving Away Failed Campaign’s Millions to ‘Put a Check on Donald Trump’s Power’

Florida’s failed U.S. Senate candidate Alexander Vindman (D) is planning to give away millions in campaign funds as a way to fight President Donald Trump, whom he hates.

Vindman lost the Democrat primary this week to state Rep. Angie Nixon, who said “in recent months” that she joined the Democrat Socialists of America (DSA), Breitbart News reported Tuesday.

On Friday the Washington Post reported Vindman’s decision to begin doling out the money:

A $400,000 donation to the state party is intended to help his onetime primary opponent, state Rep. Angie Nixon, as well as other statewide and federal candidates running in tough races in Florida.

Vindman, who testified at Trump’s first impeachment hearing during his initial presidential term, leveraged that national fame to raise more than $16 million ahead of Tuesday’s election.

In a social media post Thursday evening, Vindman explained his decision and what he believes needs to happen:

Here in Florida, we have a governor’s race, and House races we need to win to take back the chamber, and of course the Senate race. So, my campaign has made a $400,000 contribution to the Florida Democratic Party. And that is just the beginning. Over the course of the next few days and weeks, we are going to make more contributions to the places it will matter most. Because I want you to know that your support is going where you intended: to help elect Democrats everywhere and to put a check on Donald Trump’s power.

“Our campaign received a record number of individual donations — more than almost 500,000 of them from people who want Democrats to win everywhere.  It’s only right that the money continues go toward that,” Vindman concluded.

Vindman, who is a former Director of European Affairs for the National Security Council (NSC), lost to Nixon even though he raised $16.2 million, according to Breitbart News, compared to Nixon, who raised less than one million dollars.

In a social media post on Wednesday, Trump wrote about Vindman’s loss. “The most gratifying loss last night was that of a real treasonous creep, Alexander Vindman, to a Radical Left Lunatic, who can’t speak or think properly,” the president said, “and who will go down to certain defeat at the hands of Ashley Moody, a truly Fantastic Senator, from the Great State [of] Florida.”

“Vindman, if you remember, was the one who lied about my ‘Perfect Call’ with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, only to find out that the conversation was routinely recorded and proved that I was 100% in the right (Completely Innocent!),” he added. “It was, indeed, a Perfect Call, and the Dumocrats Fake Impeachment effort massively failed. Vindman should be prosecuted for what he did! President Donald J. TRUMP”
