A 49-year-old Daytona Beach woman was killed when the motorcycle she was riding crashed head-on with a pickup truck Saturday at 8:19 p.m. in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The wreck occurred when a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound on State Road 415 north of Osceola Tram Road steered into the northbound lane in the “direct path” of the 2005 Suzuki motorcycle the woman was riding as it headed north.

FHP reported the motorcycle became engulfed in flames. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The 60-year-old driver of the pickup from Deltona suffered serious injuries, as did the passenger, a 56-year-old female, also from Deltona, according to FHP.
