The album features many of the most popular and successful tracks in the band’s discography, and it becomes a quick bestseller in America, especially on a format once thought completely dead.
Where Are You Going: The Singles debuts on a trio of charts this time around. It performs so well upon its arrival thanks almost completely to pure purchases, and the set even manages to rocket its way into the top 10 on one of the three tallies it reaches this frame.
The compilation launches highest on the Vinyl Albums chart. Dave Matthews Band starts its latest release at No. 8 on the list of the bestselling full-lengths and EPs on wax throughout the U.S. this week.
The band claims the third highest debut on the Vinyl Albums tally, coming in behind Kendrick Lamar’s GNX, which opens in first. Just one space above Where Are You Going: The Singles comes Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory’s self-titled release.
Where Are You Going: The Singles almost cracks the top 10 on the Top Album Sales chart, but misses out by a few spaces. The compilation enters at No. 15 with just under 5,100 copies sold, according to Luminate.
Throughout the years, Dave Matthews and his band have cracked the top 10 on the Vinyl Albums list 13 times, including with this latest winner. Just one of those sets has peaked at No. 1. Looking at the full 25-spot roster, the group has added just two additional successes that never managed to enter the highest tier.
Where Are You Going: The Singles performs worst by a noticeable margin on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart. On that genre-specific ranking, the group enters at No. 42, earning its sixteenth placement somewhere on the roster.
