Chris Stapleton emerged as one of the biggest names in the country genre nearly a decade ago with his debut solo album Traveller. Since then, every project he’s released has been met with critical acclaim and commercial success, and most of them end up living on the charts for years.
The Grammy winner (and current nominee) is most notably connected to country, and his name can always be found on Billboard’s lists associated with that style. However, his reach extends beyond just that one label. Stapleton is also one of the biggest acts on the Top Americana/Folk Albums chart, where he currently manages a relatively rare feat.
Stapleton claims three spaces on Billboard’s Top Americana/Folk Albums ranking, which tracks the most-consumed full-lengths and EPs in both Americana and folk throughout the U.S. His trio of top performers appear in a perfect, unbroken line, with one winner coming right after another.
At the moment, his highest-rising title is Traveller, which also happens to be his oldest on the Top Americana/Folk Albums chart. That introductory set keeps at No. 9 this time around.
His next two releases both climb from where they sat last week. Stapleton brings Starting Over back to the top 10, as it lifts one space to No. 10. One rung further behind comes Higher, his most recent offering.
Stapleton has scored five top 10s on the Top Americana/Folk Albums chart, and all of them have reached No. 1. Only two of those leaders are missing from the ranking at the moment, as neither From A Room: Volume 1 nor Volume 2 appear on the tally this week.
Traveller is by far Stapleton’s biggest hit on the Top Americana/Folk Albums list. That breakout title has racked up 453 weeks on the ranking—more than his other two current placements combined. Starting Over ups its count to 218 frames as it holds on, while Higher has yet to crack triple digits, as it’s now lived on the tally for 62 turns.
All three of those albums also appear on two additional Billboard charts this week in America. Traveller, Starting Over, and Higher find space on both the Billboard 200 and the Top Country Albums rankings, as is almost always the case.
