The Producers Guild of America unveiled its nominations for its film and television awards on Thursday with few surprises.
The nominations were originally supposed to be announced last Friday but were postponed as firefighters continued to battle the Los Angeles-area wildfires that have devastated the region.
Like the Academy Awards, the Producers Guild nominates 10 films in its Motion Picture category. According to a press release from the PGA, the nominees for the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures are A Complete Unknown, Anora, The Brutalist, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, A Real Pain, September 5, The Substance and Wicked.
The PGA nominations come eight days after the nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Directors Guild of America Awards were unveiled. All five of the filmmakers nominated for a DGA Award had their film nominated for a PGA Award. They are Sean Baker (Anora), Brady Corbet (The Brutalist), James Mangold (A Complete Unknown), Edward Berger (Conclave) and Jacques Audiard (Emilia Pérez).
Perhaps the only surprise nomination for this year’s PGA Awards is September 5. Told through the lens of ABC Sports’ coverage, the film chronicles the hostage crisis involving a group of Israeli athletes during the 1972 Munich Olympics.
The film—which largely has been absent from any awards season races—opens in theaters on Friday.
Also revealed by the PGA on Thursday were the five nominees for the guild’s award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures. The nominees are Flow, Inside Out 2, Moana 2, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl and The Wild Robot.
Emmy Winner ‘Shōgun’ Among The PGA’s TV Nominees
Shōgun—which was a big winner at the 2024 Emmy Awards and the 2025 Golden Globes, was nominated in the PGA’s Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television – Drama category. The series will vie for the prize along with Bad Sisters, The Diplomat, Fallout and Slow Horses.
The five nominees for the Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television – Comedy are Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Hacks and Only Murders in the Building.
The five nominees for the David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Limited or Anthology Series Television are Baby Reindeer, FEUD: Capote Vs. The Swans, The Penguin, Ripley and True Detective: Night Country
The winners of the 2025 Producers Guild Awards will be announced at the guild’s 36th annual ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
At the ceremony, the PGA will raise awareness of its partnership with the Entertainment Community Fund. According to the PGA, it is “a dedicated fund supporting producers of film, television and emerging media affected by the wildfires” that broke out in the Los Angeles area last week.
The PGA noted in its press release that it will be donating a portion of the net proceeds from the Producers Guild Awards and that various members have already donated $300,000 to the fund to date.
