The resistance has fired its first shot across the bow against President Trump courtesy of the Judiciary Branch.

As Newsnation reported, a federal judge for the time being blocked Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship regardless of the parent’s immigration status.

U.S. District Judge John C. Coughenour of Seattle ruled for open borders advocates in the case, which was brought by the states of Washington, Arizona, Illinois, and Oregon. These states claim the 14th Amendment and Supreme Court case law have cemented birthright citizenship even for the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens.

The case is just one of five lawsuits being brought by 22 states in total, along with a number of illegal alien advocate rights groups across America.

The Gateway Pundit reported on Tuesday that multiple Democrat state attorneys general filed a lawsuit to halt Trump’s executive order on birthright citizenship.

According to Trump, however, the 14th Amendment is being hijacked by the left to give citizenship to ‘anchor babies,’ children of illegal migrants.

Here is what the order states:

“It is the policy of the United States that no department or agency of the United States government shall issue documents recognizing United States citizenship, or accept documents issued by State, local, or other governments or authorities purporting to recognize United States citizenship, to persons: (1) when that person’s mother was unlawfully present in the United States and the person’s father was not a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident at the time of said person’s birth, or (2) when that person’s mother’s presence in the United States was lawful but temporary, and the person’s father was not a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident at the time of said person’s birth,”

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
