The current music charts in America at the moment look vastly different from just a few days ago. Christmas music has fallen away, as is the case every January, after weeks of nonstop playing of holiday favorites. As classics from crooners like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Perry Como, as well as more modern musicians like Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, and Kelly Clarkson, all decline or even disappear entirely, there is plenty of room for current smashes and popular albums to soar once more.
Rosé benefits from this change of the guard more than almost any other musician. Her single “Apt.” with Bruno Mars is surging on multiple Billboard charts, and its continued popularity brings the album it’s featured on back to a very special position on one list.
Rosie, the Blackpink singer’s debut solo collection, jumps up several Billboard rankings, perhaps most notably on the Top Streaming Albums chart. Rosé’s first offering outside of the girl group that made her a global star lifts from No. 50 to No. 17 on the ranking of the most-streamed full-lengths in the U.S.
No. 17 stands as the all-time high for Rosie on the Top Streaming Albums chart, though it’s not a newly-established peak. The set debuted in that slot in mid-December, and now it’s returned to that rung, which, as it turns out, is meaningful to the singer.
As was mentioned, Rosé has only released one project on her own, so No. 17 stands as her all-time high on the Top Streaming Albums chart. Blackpink has yet to land on the tally at all, so she’s currently sitting in as lofty a position as she’s ever seen.
Rosie is also on the rise on several other Billboard charts this week, now that competition for the uppermost reaches isn’t nearly as tough as it has been in the past few frames. The set surges on the Top Album Sales list, where Rosé jumps from No. 20 to No. 6—not far from its No. 3 peak. The set sold nearly 11,700 copies in the past tracking period, according to Luminate.
Rosé’s studio effort also improves its standing on the Billboard 200 at the same time. Rosie nearly returns to the top 10 on the all-encompassing ranking of the most-consumed albums in the country, as it pushes from No. 32 to No. 12. Looking at total equivalent units shifted, which include streams and not just pure purchases, the Blackpink musician’s project moved 33,300 copies.
