Lisa’s Alter Ego debuts on four Billboard charts, while her single “Born Again” reenters the Hot 100 … [+]
Lisa’s debut solo album Alter Ego hits the Billboard charts this week. It lands on four tallies, entering the top 10 on all but one of them as fans of the Blackpink superstar rushed to support her first full-length on her own, making it a quick bestseller.
As Alter Ego debuts, so do a handful of cuts featured on the full-length. A number of tunes that weren’t made available until the project dropped in full are now Billboard wins, as the superstar finally gets to put her popularity to the test in America.
Lisa’s “Born Again” Returns to the Hot 100
Lisa lands on multiple Billboard tallies with brand new cuts, but it seems that fans aren’t yet done with one of the set’s latest singles, “Born Again.” Lisa’s collaborative cut with Doja Cat and Raye makes a home on five charts in America this week. It returns to two of them, as it seems that her audience hasn’t yet had enough of the poppy cut this frame.
“Born Again” reenters the Hot 100 at No. 96. This marks just its second turn on the list of the most-consumed songs in the U.S. It originally peaked at No. 68, where it opened, and then sadly disappeared just a week later.
“Born Again” Becomes a Bestseller Once More
As it reenters the Hot 100 — but only barely—”Born Again” is also a bestseller on a number of rankings. It blasts back onto the Dance Digital Song Sales chart at No. 4, missing out on its No. 3 high point by just one space in its fourth frame on the list of the bestselling dance-specific tunes in America.
Lisa Bounces Back Into the Top 10
Lisa’s hit is also on the rise on a number of other Billboard rosters. It bounces back into the top 10 on the Dance Streaming Songs chart, settling at No. 9. It pushes from No. 8 to No. 5 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs tally. The tune also reaches a never-before-seen peak of No. 26 on the Pop Airplay list, as DJs and promoters continue to put the track into rotation.
The Blackpink Singer’s Night at the Oscars
The release of Alter Ego is surely helping “Born Again” in its performance on the Billboard charts, but the album is not the only thing that the Blackpink star had going for her during the past tracking frame. She recently performed during the Academy Awards as part of the ceremony’s tribute to the music of the James Bond series. The segment also featured both Doja and Raye, who put their own spins on some of the classic cuts that emerged from the film franchise. The appearance of all three women — though not technically together while they sang — surely helped improve “Born Again” and increase its sales.
