She may only be 23 years old, but Billie Eilish is already one of the most successful musicians of her generation when it comes to the Billboard charts. That statement has been true for years now, as she’s been racking up smashes for more than half a decade. She continues to do so to this day, even managing to score her first major win on a tally that didn’t exist even a few days ago.
Eilish debuts inside the top 10 on a brand new Billboard tally this frame, and she’s not alone. The Grammy and Oscar winner joins Charli XCX on “Guess,” which kicks off its time on the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart at No. 4.
“Guess” marks the first top 10 hit for Eilish on the Hot Dance/Pop Songs list, which was introduced by the company only a few days ago. It’s her only appearance on the tally so far, but the same can’t be said for her collaborator.
Charli immediately stands out as the most successful musician in the history of the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart—which, of course, is not even one week old. The U.K.-based dance-pop talent owns nearly one-half of the roster, as six of her cuts help launch the ranking.
“Guess” isn’t even Charli’s biggest single on the Hot Dance/Pop Songs ranking this week. Her own “Apple” and “360” beat the high-profile duet, as those cuts start their time on the genre-specific list at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.
Only one musician manages to best Charli, as well as Eilish…as well as every other star who lands on the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart as Americans get their first look at the exciting new tally. Tate McRae debuts her current single “It’s Ok I’m Ok” at No. 1, making Billboard history in the process.
“Guess” was released in August 2024 as a single from the reworked take on Charli’s recent album Brat, which was retitled Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat. The tune turned out to be a big hit globally, reaching No. 1 on the U.K. singles list and nearly cracking the top 10 on the Hot 100, where it stalled at No. 12.
