Beyoncé’s country album Cowboy Carter won Album of the Year at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 2. The night’s most anticipated award was presented by the L.A. Fire Department.

“I’d like to thank and acknowledge and praise all the firefighters for keeping us safe. I just feel very full and very honored,” she said during her acceptance speech. “It’s been many, many years, and I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer… all of the hard work. ”

Cowboy Carter, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts in March, competed against seven major albums: Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, Charli XCX’s Brat, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet, Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft, André 3000’s New Blue Sun, Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and Jacob Collier’s Djesse Vol. 4.

Beyoncé earned an impressive 11 nominations this year, including three in major categories. Earlier in the night, she made history as the first Black woman to win Best Country Album. She also took home Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus during the Grammy pre-ceremony.

She became the most-awarded artist in Grammy history in 2023 with Renaissance and added three more wins on Sunday, bringing her current total to 35 awards and 99 nominations.
