Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni made a trip to Pakistan on Tuesday with a “high-level delegation” to meet with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his defense chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir. Bloomberg reports that President Donald Trump has nominated Adam Candeub to serve as assistant attorney general at the DOJ, the White House announced. According to White House official Saurabh Sharma, Candeub will lead antitrust enforcement at the department. The nomination will require confirmation by the Senate, a process that could take several months to complete. The DOJ currently lacks a Senate-confirmed antitrust chief. Maine Democrat Troy Jackson has raised $1 million in the less than two weeks since he entered the race for Senate shortly after Graham Platner dropped out, his campaign told POLITICO on Wednesday morning. The Hungarian government on Monday announced an investigation into a major investment deal with Chinese auto giant BYD, on suspicion that former Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto might have had a conflict of interest.
