Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese made clear Friday that a forced buyback “scheme” will be enacted and result in the collection and destruction of “hundreds of thousands of firearms.” This gun control push comes after two terrorists–a father and son duo ages 50 and 24–used legally-owned firearms to attack innocents at an event celebrating Hanukkah on Bondi Beach Sunday evening. On December 16, 2025, Breitbart News noted that Albanese’s knee-jerk reaction to two terrorists misusing guns was to consider more gun control for the whole of Australia. On Friday, WXII 12 reported on his announcement of the plan, noting that there will…
Germany is on track to post its largest budget deficit since reunification, the country’s central bank has warned, as Berlin ramps up military spending and financial aid to Ukraine. In its December forecast, published on Friday, the Bundesbank said the government shortfall will rise steadily and reach 4.8% of economic output by 2028, the highest level since 1995, when deficits peaked in the years following German reunification. Public debt is also expected to increase over the same period. The Bundesbank has linked the rising deficit mainly to higher defense spending, continued financial support to Ukraine, large infrastructure projects, tax cuts,…
AP — Russia carried out cyberattacks against infrastructure and websites in Denmark in 2024 and 2025, Danish authorities say in a new assessment published this week describing new cases not previously reported. Moscow was responsible for “destructive and disruptive” cyberattacks on a Danish water utility company in 2024 and a series of denial of service attacks which overwhelmed Danish websites ahead of regional and local elections last month, Denmark´s Defense Intelligence Service said in a statement Thursday. The water company said the attack caused pipes to burst, leaving homes temporarily without water. Jan Hansen, the head of the Tureby Alkestrup…
A Salvadoran illegal alien released by Fairfax County in defiance of an ICE detainer is now charged with murdering a man in Reston less than a day later—an avoidable killing, federal officials say, that happened only because local authorities refused to hand him over to immigration agents. Department of Homeland Security officials said Fairfax County officials “have blood on their hands” after releasing Marvin Fernando Morales‑Ortez, a Salvadoran illegal alien, despite having an immigration detainer in place. Morales-Ortiz allegedly murdered a Ruston, Virginia, man the day after the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office ignored the ICE detainer and released him. Morales-Ortez is…
The answer to the affordability crisis lies in the devaluation of currency, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily. “Well, I think the answer to affordability and the problem is the devaluation of currency,” Paul told Breitbart News Daily host Mike Slater. “The reason people are poorer is because the government devalues your currency and your wages don’t keep up with prices. So it’s even worse in some areas,” he said, identifying the two areas where this is the “worst.” “The two areas where it’s worst are education and health care, and the reason for…
Conservatives led by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) are urging a January 2026 vote on Republicans’ signature border security legislation to ensure continuation of President Donald Trump’s border security achievements through the next administration and beyond. Border security advocates championed H.R. 2 during the Biden administration as a tool to fight the orchestrated onslaught of migrants. As Breitbart News’s Neil Munro reported: HR2 is a comprehensive immigration reform bill. It is being pushed by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who heads the judiciary committee. But it is quietly opposed by a handful of GOP representatives who favor a continued inflow of wage-cutting…
The Islamic State terrorist organization published a statement on Thursday celebrating the killing of three Americans, two servicemen and a civilian, in Syria last week, but stopped short of taking responsibility for the attack. The message, translated and paraphrased by Reuters, appeared on a Telegram channel reportedly linked to the leadership of the global jihadist terror network. It is the first such message since the attack in Palmyra, which preceded another terrorist killing attributed to the group: the massacre at a Hanukkah event at Sydney, Australia’s Bondi Beach. Reuters did not indicate that the message mentioned the incident in Australia,…
Consumer sentiment rose in December, boosted by improved views among lower-income consumers and increasing optimism for personal finances and business conditions. The University of Michigan said Friday that its final December sentiment index climbed 1.9 points to 52.9. “Consumer sentiment confirmed its early month reading, inching up less than two index points from November, within the margin of error. While lower-income consumers posted gains, sentiment for higher-income consumers was little changed. Buying conditions for durable goods fell for the fifth straight month, whereas expectations for personal finances and business conditions rose in December,” Joanne Hsu, director of the survey, said in…
CNN is heading into an uncertain future with its parent company Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) destined for a takeover — and US President Donald Trump hoping the change will allow him to influence the iconic news network’s programming. WBD has urged shareholders to reject a hostile takeover bid from Paramount Skydance, in favor of a deal offered by streaming giant Netflix. Paramount’s CEO David Ellison — whose father is Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, a close Trump ally — has assured the US president that he would retool CNN’s editorial stance and lineup if his bid were successful, The Wall Street…
