Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) accused President Donald Trump of “trying to end” the United States’ democracy, adding that Trump was “trying to seize control.” While speaking in Spain at the Global Progressive Mobilisation conference, Murphy claimed that the U.S. was “in the middle” of a totalitarian takeover. Murphy also claimed that Trump was trying to gain control of the courts, law enforcement, media, and elections in the U.S. “I want to bring you greetings, as well, from a nation that is in crisis,” Murphy said. “I’m not going to sugarcoat the gravity of what we face right now in the…
Hill Republican leaders are finding themselves in a never-ending crisis over the fate of a government spy law that has unleashed a bitter, intraparty battle within the House while also threatening to derail a host of other GOP priorities. Republicans now have scant legislative days to build new plans to extend Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA. But President Donald Trump, GOP leaders and White House officials have failed to come up with a workable framework for months — and there is no agreement yet on the path forward. Some House Republicans hope they’re in the…

Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party has announced plans to deport potentially hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants who were granted asylum in Britain after arriving on small boats. The populist party said on Sunday that if elected, a Reform UK government would conduct a review of all successful asylum cases over the previous five years to determine whether they either entered the country illegally, overstayed their visa, or if their home nation is now safe to return to, in a bid to reverse the mass migration imposed on Britain by both Westminster establishment parties. If one of the conditions is…
The construction of President Donald Trump’s White House ballroom can proceed, a federal appeals court ruled late Friday night. The judgement came just 24-hours after a lower court judge continued to block above-ground rebuild on the site of the former East Wing. AP reports a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit put on temporary hold the order by U.S. District Judge Richard Leon halting part of the $400 million project. The ruling marks a substantial victory for the president in his effort to redesign the storied American structure. Construction is now expected to continue…
Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) defended President Donald Trump, saying he had not called for genocide, and said “shame on CNN for saying that.” Host Jake Tapper said, “What did you think when President Trump threatened to obliterate the entire Iranian civilization?” Stefanik said, “He was focusing on the Iranian regime. And what did it do? It brought the Iranians to the table. It led to the ceasefire. We know that President Trump has very strong statements when it comes to his tweets, but it has been targeted towards the Iranian terrorist regime.” Tapper…
Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said he would do everything in his power to stop Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at polling places in his city. Host Kristen Welker said, “Let’s talk about ICE. You just referenced ICE. In the midst of the government shutdown, President Trump deployed ICE agents to airports across America including right here in New York. In the wake of that, former Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon suggested that there could be a test run for sending ICE to polling places in the midterms. What will you do if…
The Strokes closed out their weekend appearances at Coachella Saturday with a video montage promoting propaganda in support of the oppressive Iranian Mullahs and terror organization Hamas. Appearing on the festival’s main stage just before headliner Justin Bieber’s appearance, the New York indie rockers launched into a politically charged finale. Riffing off their 2016 tune, “Oblivius,” the screen behind the band flashed images of leaders they claim were overthrown by the CIA. This was followed by flashes of a photo of U.S. civil rights icon Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., captioned with “US Govt found guilty of his murder…
