More than half of Democrats hold a more positive view of socialism as opposed to capitalism, according to a recent CBS News/YouGov poll. The poll, which surveyed 2,287 adults in the United States between August 12-14, found that there is a 26-point difference between Democrats’ positive views on socialism and capitalism. Among Democrats, 58 percent were found to have a positive view of socialism, while 32 percent have a positive view of capitalism. The House Ethics Committee announced Monday it is investigating Rep. Jimmy Gomez for allegedly “engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with a House staffer.” The investigation into the California Democrat comes as the House is poised to consider ethics overhaul legislation as soon as next month that would, among other things, ban lawmakers from having sexual relationships with all congressional aides. Fort Worth, Texas, police say an intruder died following a shootout with a homeowner on Saturday around 3:30 p.m. FOX4News reported that the homeowner entered his home and found an intruder inside.
