A historic church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, burned down late Wednesday evening. Firefighters arrived to scene at around 11 pm on Wednesday night and spent hours trying to put out the blaze. The roof of LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church collapsed in the blaze. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. West Virginia law enforcement said a 20-year-old man who allegedly used the name “MrChildPorn” online is accused of possessing material depicting children engaged in sexually explicit conduct. West Virginia State Police said the suspect, Garrett Michael Highlander of Morgantown, was arrested last week after he allegedly used the Discord platform to share those images, WSB-TV reported Wednesday. Satellite photographs have revealed new construction on Yagong Island in the Paracels archipelago, leading analysts to believe China is constructing a major military base that will consolidate its grip on the disputed South China Sea islands.
