House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) subpoenaed Ghislaine Maxwell, the former assistant to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, for a deposition. Maxwell’s deposition will take place at the Federal Correctional Institution Tallahassee on August 11, 2025, according to a press release from the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. A federal judge on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit brought by Hillary Clinton attorney Marc Elias, who was attempting to sue Wyoming to force officials to scotch a law requiring voters to show proof of citizenship and state residency to vote. Three officers were ambushed and shot Wednesday afternoon around 1:00 p.m. near an industrial park in Lorain, Ohio. The alleged shooter was shot and killed as police returned fire. The New York Times reported that officers were doing “proactive patrolling” when a 28-year-old man allegedly opened fire on them.
