KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Days before the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukrainians are as somber and tense as they were right before Moscow launched the war. Only now, they aren’t just worried about their longtime enemy.Ukraine’s stunning new threat comes from its once staunchest ally, the United States, whose support appears to be fading as President Donald Trump echoes the narrative of Russian President Vladimir Putin while pledging to stop the fighting between the two countries.Over three years of war, Ukraine’s initial unity had started to wear thin, as old frictions and political spats reemerged. The Founding Fathers expected elected legislators to remain closest to the sovereign people in both interests and affection. Those great men got many things right, but boy did they get that one wrong. “Suppose you were an idiot,” literary legend Mark Twain once wrote. “And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.” Nonetheless, according to a Gallup poll conducted Feb. 3-16, those beleaguered legislators may thank President Donald Trump for a 70 percent increase in their approval rating since Jan. 17, three days before the president’s inauguration. Of course, one need not break out the champagne…

On Thursday’s broadcast of “CNN Newsroom,” Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) stated that she’s pushing to cut off funding for President Donald Trump’s birthright citizenship order because she wants “to fight to be sure that everybody who’s born here gets to retain that citizenship.” Host Pamela Brown asked, “Axios is reporting that you are leading a Democratic effort that would cut off funding to enforce Trump’s order to end birthright citizenship. Tell me more about that. Are any of your Republican colleagues supportive of this?” Rosen answered, “Well, I hope that they would be because we passed the 14th Amendment in…
