At least 23 people have been killed and around 50 injured in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City, according to Palestinians.
Medics said the attack on Wednesday hit residential buildings in the Shejaiya neighbourhood, with rescue workers still searching the rubble for survivors.
The Israeli military has not yet commented on the incident.
The Palestinian news agency WAFA also reported multiple casualties in other Israeli attacks elsewhere in the Gaza Strip, including in Khan Younis in the south.
Israel’s military confirmed it is continuing ground operations in the strip, including in Shejaiya. It also said that within 24 hours, its air force struck 45 targets linked to terrorist organizations, including personnel and weapons depots.
Israel resumed attacks on Gaza on March 18, following the collapse of a ceasefire that had largely held for two months.
The Israeli army said last week it had expanded its ground offensive in northern Gaza, citing the need to establish a wider security buffer zone along the Israeli border.
The information provided by both sides could not be independently verified.
