Ariana Grande soars on Billboard’s global charts with hits like “We Can’t Be Friends” and “Save Your … More
Getty ImagesAriana Grande might not be dominating the Billboard charts this week, but that’s likely to change very soon. In just a matter of days, the superstar is expected to rocket up the rankings thanks to the newly-released deluxe version of her latest full-length, which is now titled Eternal Sunshine: Brighter Days Ahead, which comes with a brand new focus track and a short film.
Before those updated placements arrive, Grande is already moving upward. While she’s currently absent from all the major U.S. singles rankings, her music is still soaring globally.
Ariana Grande Doesn’t Chart in the U.S.
At the moment, Ariana Grande doesn’t claim a single space on the Hot 100 – or any other songs-focused tally in the U.S. The singer does, however, fill three slots on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. These two charts rank the most-consumed songs on the planet, with the latter tally excluding all activity from the U.S. entirely.
Two of Grande’s three planet-spanning wins this week are collaborations with The Weeknd. “Save Your Tears” is enjoying the bigger boost between the two, as it vaults more than 10 spaces to No. 55 on the Billboard Global 200. On the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., it improves slightly, but meaningfully, lifting to No. 42 — just a few rungs shy of returning to the top 40.
Another duet, “Die For You,” is also making moves north on the lists. The track climbs from No. 111 to No. 92 on the Billboard Global 200, re-entering the highest half. Over on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., it performs even better, pushing from No. 90 to No. 75.
“We Can’t Be Friends” is Improving
While her collaborative efforts are leading the way, Grande also manages to chart as a solo act. “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love),” one of the biggest singles from the standard edition of Eternal Sunshine, is on the upswing. This frame, it surges from No. 89 to No. 74 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. At the same time, it jumps 20 positions on the Billboard Global 200, rising to No. 81.
Eternal Sunshine Makes a Play for No. 1
Right now, Eternal Sunshine sits at No. 87 on the Billboard 200, though that number is sure to change dramatically very soon. The release of Eternal Sunshine: Brighter Days Ahead is expected to propel it up the chart—possibly all the way back to No. 1.
Grande is also enjoying continued success with another project. The Wicked soundtrack, which credits her, Cynthia Erivo, and the rest of the movie’s cast, is still doing well, even though the film itself is no longer in theaters. It outpaces Eternal Sunshine on the Billboard 200 this frame and climbs on both the Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums rankings.
