Actor Billy Baldwin pivoted from pleading for “unity” to attacking white people, Christians, and Trump supporters on his social media only two days after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
On the day of the outrageous murder of Charlie Kirk, Baldwin jumped to his social media to call for calm and unity.
“Charlie Kirk was the founder of Turning Point USA,” Baldwin wrote after news broke that Kirk had been assassinated. “I pray that his death is a turning point for America that brings a healing that unites us and does not drive us further into this spiral of division, hatred and political violence.”
It has been a pattern for left-wingers to call for “unity,” “non violence” and “healing” after one of their own murders someone on the right and Baldwin was simply following the common trend.
But, two days later, once the FBI reported that a young man named Tyler Robinson had been identified as a suspect in Kirk’s murder, it was Baldwin who was seen creating division.
After Robinson’s arrest, Baldwin saw the announcement as a weapon he could use against his political opponents.
He wrote:
Not Black.
Not Trans.
Not Muslim.
Not an Immigrant.
Not a Democrat.
Meet Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson. A white Christian, Conservative, Republican male with a gun… again.
Of course, Baldwin’s characterization seems severely off track. The information we’ve had thus far tends to show that the young suspect was not Christian, nor a Republican, nor any sort of supporter of the right side of the political aisle. Media reports have linked Robinson to socialism, and the FBI noted that his ammunition had pro-trans and so-called “anti-fascist” messages etched upon them. Initial reports also claim that Robinson had recently become more radicalized against the sort of ideas that Kirk espoused.
As time goes on, we will learn more of the suspect’s motives, but the evidence is mounting that Tyler Robinson does not exemplify the ideas that Billy Baldwin ascribes to him.
